1/31/11 Breathtaking Proposal #31

The “get the kids to recite a poem for their teacher” Proposal
This proposal was inspired by this video:
·         Imagine you’re a teacher and you directed a class of musicals for kids ages 3-7. (That’s pretty difficult.)
·         But then at the end of the show; the other teacher announces that there’s another portion of the show.
·         You’re confused but go with it.
·         You see two students recite a poem about a couple and at the end they ask “if the girl would marry me?”
·         That’s when your boyfriend comes out and asks the children if they took something out of his pocket.
·         Thanks the kids for helping.
·         Gets the ring box from the kid.
·         Then proceeds to walk towards you and gets on one knee to propose to you.
I believe this is breathtaking because the partner involved her passion in life; the school, teachers, and children.
NOTE:
·         But this is only for the partner that doesn’t mind mixing her personal life with her work life.
·         Not all partners want to be proposed to at work.

Sweetest Proposal of All Time

Video Details:
‘After dating for five years, Kevin knew that he had to do something spectacular to pop the question. I directed a musical for 3-7 year olds and he decided this was the perfect setting for the proposal. So he wrote a poem and had two six year olds memorize it. After the show and all of the thank you's to staff, a final thank you was announced. So in front of 75 children and 400 parents, neighbors, family and friends, Kevin proposed. It was quite possibly the sweetest proposal of all time!”

1/25/11 Breathtaking Proposal #25

The “Caricature” Proposal

The set up:

The gentleman sets everything up beforehand, of course.

  • Sets up dinner reservations for his partner, his friend Rob, and himself.
  • They have to arrive early and have to wait in line.
  • There’s a caricature artist in line so they decide to have their picture drawn.
  • While the artist, Heather Joy, is drawing; the gentleman and Rob try to distract Janalee-the partner.
  • When the caricature is finished.
  • Janalee sees that her partner is proposing to her on one knee in the drawing and real life.
  • She is completely shocked.
  • Of course, she says yes.

It seems simple but really takes ones breath away when they aren’t expecting it. I do adore her reaction. She can hardly breathe! He definitely took her breath away!

An alternative to the “Skydiving into love” Proposal

The “Leap of Faith” Proposal

In this proposal:
·         Both partners are skydiving with help of professionals of course.
·         The gentleman has the camera and video tapes everything.
·         Generally your focus is on the girlfriend.
·         She doesn’t suspect a thing.
·         They go on the plane and jump; the gentleman first and then his lady friend.
·         They hold hands in the air for a moment.
·         The gentleman lands first to reveal the aerial view of the proposal to us.
·         Then we see her land and see the message and run to his arms!
·         There were banners on the ground of where they landed that said.
o   “I love you.
o   Her name.
o   Will you Marry me?”

1/23/11 Breathtaking Proposal #23

The “Skydiving into love” Proposal

This proposal is actually a commercial for a Siemen Real Time Video Phone.
·         There’s a woman speaking with her friend at the bar.
·         Her boyfriend calls and says he’ll be late.
·         She asks why and then shows the phone to her friend.
·         The phone shows that the boyfriend is currently about to jump out of a plane in a tuxedo.
·         He’s skydiving.
·         Then he pulls his parachute “string?” and it comes out with the words… Marry Me printed on it.
·         He points to it and she texts him YES.

Question:
·         Wow can you get reception up there?
·         If so, who is your wireless carrier?

I hope it doesn’t affect the plane’s navigation.

1/22/11 Breathtaking Proposal #22

The “Creation of Art” Proposal

Summary:
·         The artist creates an elaborate scheme to bring his partner (plus friends) to an art show by “some other artist’s name.”
·         She goes to see a sculpture that is made of several pieces.
·         But if you look at it at a certain direction, the sculpture will review a secret message. “Will you marry me?”
This summary is quick and short but the time spent into creating the art and organizing the party really adds onto the proposal.

My Alternative mix to this proposal:
·         Using the walls to conceal the message. Like Axel Peemöller’s art.

·         Take photos of the partner strategically placed in the photos.
·         Use a projector or projector camera (Nikon Coolpix S1100pj) or a regular projector to show her and everyone else the photos there.

·         Or if they didn’t have the camera to take the photos backwards so when you’re done, you let her see the messages starting from the last photo to the first… revealing the message… WILL. YOU. MARRY. ME.?
